Position and audience

The Tainan class is based at the TTA southern base in Guiren District, Tainan. It is for owners of small and medium-sized companies in southern Taiwan, second-generation successors and professional managers, senior staff who lead transformation, and teams that want to adopt AI tools and improve digital marketing. Its theme is how team consensus connects to practical delivery.

Many transformations stall inside the company. The owner sees the trend, managers are unsure what a solution is meant to fix, and suppliers and the shop floor speak different languages. The Tainan class uses strategy facilitation to build a shared vocabulary first and tools second, so that the outcome can actually be used on the operating floor.

A manufacturing and retail perspective

The instructor, Kuo Yu-hui, is a director of the Taiwan Association for Strategy and Performance Management. She has 30 years of manufacturing and retail experience, founded the Vietnam operation of a software group as its first general manager, and is now head mentor of the N-Generation Academy. Her fields are overseas expansion and strategy facilitation, and in recent years she has helped companies pursue digital and green transformation together.

This background shapes the cases towards physical operations: inventory, channels, orders and coordination across sites. For manufacturers and retailers with overseas bases or expansion plans, the strategic frameworks and ROI assessment in the course map directly onto their own investment decisions.

The Tainan class shares its syllabus with the other regional classes, so participants can compare locations with confidence. The real differences are the instructor's experience and convenience of place. Southern companies can follow the same eight sessions in Guiren without travelling north or far afield, and can meet local peers.

How the eight sessions connect

The first two sessions set the starting point and goals. Session 1 defines the current position and the issues; Session 2 sets targets and vision, using SWOT, the business model canvas and OKR or OGSM. Sessions 3 to 5 move to tools: SEO, technical assessment of digital options, and information extraction for better decisions. Each is checked against the goals set earlier.

The benchmark-company visit in Session 6 sits in the middle, so participants see how peers have built digital work into daily operations before they write their own blueprint. Sessions 7 and 8 form the blueprint: first the strategic framework and action plan, then the operating plan and final presentation.

ROI assessment is the check the Tainan class returns to again and again. Before a digital option enters the blueprint, it must answer how much is invested, what is expected to improve and when this can be tested. If it cannot, the option returns to issue definition and no software is bought.

Schedule, venue and preparation

The class runs from May to October, with one or two sessions a month, from 13:00 to 17:00. Each session is about four hours, at 6 Guiren 13th Road, Section 1, 6th floor. Companies travelling a long way should schedule attendance for the colleagues they send, so that missing a session does not break the continuity of the blueprint.

Before Session 1, participants should prepare three items: recent revenue and cost structure, main products and channels, and the single operating problem they most want to solve. These feed the diagnosis and goal setting, and are the starting point for the final presentation.

Link to TINAI resources

The Taiwan Industrial Network of Alliances for Investment (TINAI) was initiated by the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Association, R.O.C. Once the blueprint identifies a technology or service need, participants can look at the digital alliance page for smart manufacturing and transformation partners, or describe the need on the opportunities page for referral.

The Kaohsiung and central classes share this syllabus but differ in venue and instructor. Tainan is distinguished by facilitation grounded in manufacturing and retail, with ROI assessment as its check. Choose by location and instructor background.

In the wider series, the northern classes lean towards operating systems and customer management, and the workplace AI class focuses on AI applications. Tainan is the regional class that stresses team consensus most. If a company's main problem is disagreement about direction, the goal-alignment work in Tainan is likely to help most.
