From IC design files and photomask processes to machine recipes and legacy equipment that cannot be updated freely, the cybersecurity risks facing the semiconductor industry are very different from those of an ordinary corporate IT environment. When ransomware, APT (advanced persistent threat) attacks or unpatched vulnerabilities enter a fab, the consequences may go beyond data leaks to abnormal machines, production-line shutdowns and operational impact. This course goes from the "threat landscape" all the way to "OT on-site defense," helping participants rethink that what a fab needs is not just IT security, but a defense mindset that truly understands OT environments, capacity requirements and equipment constraints.
Speakers and agenda
Speakers
- Tim | SEMI E187 chip manufacturing cybersecurity standard expert
Agenda
- PART 1: Semiconductor threat landscape and breakdown of the SEMI E187/188 standards
- Conflicts between general-purpose commercial security architecture (IT) and fab OT production lines
- Breaking down real hacker attack cases targeting IC design files (IP theft), photomask processes and machine recipes
- Analyzing the devastating chain of economic losses when infected machines halt production lines
- In-depth breakdown of the SEMI E187 / E188 international cybersecurity standards
- PART 2: Practical production-line defense in fabs and advancing management
- Defending legacy equipment and unpatched vulnerabilities
- Defense strategies that keep production running
- Overcoming adoption barriers and disaster drills
